Zack Gutin to guest on USA Scriptchat May 20th 5pm PDT (8pm EDT) talking the process of getting signed, taking generals, and gearing up to have a first spec that goes out wide, and getting attachments.

Zack @zackgutin is a multi-faceted writer based in Los Angeles who has been featured in Emmy Magazine, Variety and Talent in Motion Magazine, been a speaker and panelist at film festivals, conferences and other events, as well as contributing to The Script Lab and numerous other film-related websites.  He also frequently hosts the Final Draft "Inside View" webinar series and was a longtime staff writer for Script Magazine.  He began his career in stand up comedy while in college in 2004, opening for headlining comedians and touring with comics from The Howard Stern Show, before eventually making
screenwriting his focus.

As a screenwriter, Zack has written dozens of screenplays, TV specs, original pilots and serves as Co-Head Writer of Drug Puppy, an award-winning sketch comedy troupe with resident performances at the famed iO West Theater in Hollywood, as well as frequent performances at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater and the Second City Theater in Hollywood.  Additionally, several videos that Zack produced for
Drug Puppy have been featured on the homepage of FunnyOrDie.com.  In
April 2010, Zack had the thrill of working as a script consultant on
Saturday Night Live.

In 2011, after an original pilot script he wrote gained attention with
the attachment of Christopher Titus as star and Barry Katz as
Executive Producer, he signed with the highly-respected literary
management firm, Kaplan/Perrone.  In 2012, amongst other projects, his
latest feature script will be introduced wide on the studio spec
market; a project that already has the interest of several major
producers and directors.

Originally a native of northern New Jersey, Zack holds degrees in both
Screenwriting and Creative Writing from Towson University.  He lives
in Los Angeles with his wife and English bulldog and frequently
rejects assertions that his dreams of playing for the New York Yankees
have passed him by.
